U.S. drama loses out to U.K. thriller 'Spooks'

LONDON -- Almost 400,000 viewers tuned in to watch the feature-length return of Kiefer Sutherland starrer "24" Monday night on Sky One. But the U.S. cult drama lost out to homegrown spy thriller "Spooks," which scored 1 million viewers on BBC3 for the new hour-long episode airing at 10:30 p.m.

The show attracted a strong following from viewers who had watched the previous episode at 9 p.m. on BBC1.

The two-hour "24" special, titled "Redemption," earned 378,000 viewers and a total share of the multichannel audience of 3.1% during the 10 p.m.-midnight slot, according to unofficial overnight figures from ratings agency Barb.
