6 Sales agency to bow at AFM

SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain -- Enrique Posner, former general manager of Warner Bros. Pictures Espana, has joined with Galba Prods. and Perro Verde Films in launching the international sales agency 6 Sales, the group said Wednesday.

Animation production specialist Perro Verde is the creation of Manuel Cristobal, Ruben Zarauza and Maria Arochena, while Galba is owned by producer-sales agent Marina Fuentes.

The Madrid-based company will handle films produced by its partners as well as by other producers and will launch at AFM with a slate led by "Alone With Her," written and directed by Eric Nicholas, produced by Tom Engelman and starring Colin Hanks and Ana Claudia Talancon.

"We are very excited with the new company," Fuentes said. "Each of us has a forte, and it is great to have experts on each department. We have great projects in the pipeline and are very proud of the first acquisitions made for AFM."

6 Sales also will handle Paul Leduc's "Cobrador: In God We Trust," starring Peter Fonda; Roger Gual's "Remake," outside of Spain, France, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay; and the quirky low-budget animation film "Going Nuts," produced by Perro Verde and starring an ensemble of peanuts.

Perro Verde has two other projects on its slate that will be handled by 6 Sales. First up is "Zombie Western," a puppet/ animation film co-produced by Danish company Happy Fly Fish targeted at young audiences and directed by Juanjo Ramirez. The second film is "Spleen," a ?2 million ($2.5 million) romantic comedy, directed by Alfonso Zarauza and starring Luis Tosar.

"We intend to be heavily into animation, but with a clear eye on edgy projects," Cristobal said. "Five or six years ago, animation features barely existed in Spain, and now it's an overcrowded sector because they are so well suited for the international market. But there are very few edgy films. That will be our focus."
