A+E Networks Adds Edward Sabin to International Team
The Discovery alum will serve as managing director of Latin America and Canada.
A+E Networks has imported Edward Sabin to its International team, naming him managing director, Americas, and head of commercial operations. International exec vp Sean Cohan made the announcement Monday.
“I am thrilled to partner with an executive of Edward's caliber and to add him to the International senior team at A+E Networks. Edward has incredible acumen and knowledge of the media business, coupled with a wealth of experience,” said Cohan. “Our international division has been on a tear, with a portfolio and business that has tripled in size. Both wholly owned businesses and our partnerships with leading players have grown dramatically. In his role, Edward joins a strong team and partners that are bullish on the continued growth of some of the best content and brands across all regions and platforms.”
The new job finds Sabin managing all aspects of the cable portfolio’s growth in Latin America and Canada, leading business operations for the international channels and contributing to global business strategy.
“The ever-evolving global landscape presents significant opportunities, including the impetus for media companies to boost their engagement with international audiences across all platforms,” said Sabin. “A+E Networks has committed aggressively to that growing engagement, and it has unparalleled content and brands to power and support it. I am thrilled to be joining such an accomplished team, and to help lead the next chapter of this success story.”
Since 2007, Sabin has been at Discovery Communications — most recently serving as group COO for Discovery, TLC, Science and Velocity. He came to the Discovery after a seven-year tenure at Fox Television Studios.
