A+E Networks Head Nancy Dubuc to Keynote Banff Festival (Exclusive)
She will discuss the U.S. cable powerhouse's expanding global role in the unscripted and scripted series landscape.
A+E Networks president and CEO Nancy Dubuc will serve as the keynote speaker at the Banff World Media Festival in June, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Dubuc, who oversees top U.S. TV brands such as History, A&E, Lifetime and LMN, will discuss her company's ten channels and their role in the global unscripted and unscripted TV landscape at the Canadian Rockies media festival. Top A+E series include Vikings, Bates Motel, Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, Dance Moms, Duck Dynasty and The Bible.
Dubuc's keynote will coincide with the U.S. cable powerhouse being the focus of a tribute as the 2015 company of distinction in Banff. "A+E Networks is proud to be one of the first cable channels to launch in Canada, and our commitment to the market has continued to grow over the past 30 years,” said Dubuc in a statement Tuesday.
A+E Networks first entered the Canadian market in 1984 with the launch of A&E. Dubuc, who routinely makes The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 Top Women in Entertainment list, will also appear at the inaugural invite-only Women’s Power Lunch at Banff.
Banff executive director Ferne Cohen in her own statement Tuesday said the gains "A+E Networks has made under Nancy Dubuc’s leadership have been exemplary, and we know that our delegates will be very enthusiastic to hear firsthand how A+E Networks has been able to find such great success in this constantly evolving media landscape.”
Earlier recipients of the company of distinction salute in Banff include CBS and Lionsgate. The Banff World Media Festival is set to run from June 7-10.
