Chris Rock, Dane Cook and Star Jones were among those sharing their thoughts on the Yankees slugger's 200-plus-game suspension.

A-Rod has been suspended, and Hollywood's not surprised.

The New York Yankees third baseman was among the 13 players disciplined by Major League Baseball on Monday for their relationship to Biogenesis of America, a now-closed Florida clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs.

Rodriguez was suspended through 2014, or 211 games, the harshest penalty doled out by the league. The other 12 players -- including all-stars Nelson Cruz, Jhonny Peralta and Everth Cabrera -- were banned 50 games each.

Rodriguez, who's still set to play for the Yankees in tonight's game in Chicago, has until Thursday to appeal the decision; if he does, he'll remain eligible to play until a decision by an arbitrator, the Associated Press reported.

His suspension was for his use and possession of banned performance-enhancing substances over multiple years and "for attempting to cover up his violations of the program by engaging in a course of conduct intended to obstruct and frustrate the office of the commissioner's investigation," according to the MLB.

Monday's suspensions are thought to be the most handed down at once for off-field conduct since eight Chicago White Sox players were banned for life for throwing the 1919 World Series, which was later depicted in the movie Eight Men Out.

But, that's not the only Hollywood connection to Monday's news. Stars quickly took to Twitter to react to the suspensions, focusing mostly on A-Rod's situation.
