A strong belief in 'Ghost'

Good Films adapts Ibboston book

The children's book "The Great Ghost Rescue" is on its way to the big screen.

Yann Samuell will direct from a screenplay by David Solomons, and Miriam Segal and Martin Katz of Good Films will produce.

Odd Lot Entertainment has the international distribution rights.

Based on the popular children's book by best-selling author Eva Ibboston, the story is set in a world where ghosts are the protagonists and it's the living and the people they fear. "Ghost" centers on a small ghost whose family loses their home and has to find a new haunting ground while evading exorcists.

Odd Lot, now in post on the Frank Miller feature "The Spirit," intends to adapt the book as a live-action feature in the tone of "Ghostbusters" and "The Addams Family."

Solomons ("Five Children and It") is repped by Casarotto Ramsay & Associates.

French director Samuell helmed 2003's "Jeux d'enfants," which starred Marion Cotillard, and he's making his English-language debut with "My Sassy Girl." He is repped by CAA and attorney is Robert Offer.
