ABC developing 'I'm With Stupid'

Multicamera comedy set to star Judy Greer

ABC is developing "I'm With Stupid," a multicamera comedy series starring Judy Greer and executive produced by feature scribe Allan Loeb.

Based on Elaine Szewczyk's novel, "Stupid" centers on Manhattan-born and -bred Kas Sienkiewicz (Greer), who has a fling with a seemingly perfect park ranger while on safari in South Africa. When she returns home, she wonders whether she'll ever hear from him again, only to have him arrive unannounced at her doorstep. She quickly realizes her new roommate has limited intellectual capabilities and learns that what happens on safari should stay on safari.

Szewczyk is writing the TV adaptation and co-executive producing. ABC Studios is producing the project, originally developed at Lionsgate TV. Loeb, Steven Pearl and Richard Lewis are exec producing "Stupid," which has a script commitment.

"Stupid" marks Greer's return to ABC, where she toplined the single-camera comedy "Miss Guided."

Greer recently wrapped the Tom Dey-directed feature "Marmaduke" and is filming Ed Zwick's "Love and Other Drugs." She has voice roles on Nickelodeon's "Glenn Martin, DDS" and FX's "The Archer."

Loeb's feature credits include "21," "The Baster" and "Wall Street 2." He also co-created the Fox drama "New Amsterdam."

Greer and Loeb are repped by CAA. Greer is managed by Principato Young.
