Monique Lhuillier New York Fashion Week - H 2015

Because it's not all just pretty clothes.

Sure, Instagram, Twitter and the hundreds of other fashion-oriented social media apps can show you bits and pieces from behind the fashion industry's biggest and brightest event of the year, New York Fashion Week — but you can only get a taste for so much. Now, thanks to a new two-hour event special documentary on ABC Family, fans can get an up-close-and-personal behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the stylish madness for the first time ever.

Baring It All: Inside New York Fashion Week, will begin filming on Sept. 9 and is set to air on the network this October. Viewers will be able to see the chaos behind those perfectly filtered Instagram posts as the crew follows industry insiders, editors as well as requisite front-row social media stars and street style bait into the madness behind the pretty clothes.

"We are thrilled to be producing our first event special," said Karey Burke, executive vice president of programming and development at the network, in a release. Adds IMG senior vp of programming content strategy Will Staeger, "No experience in the world is quite like New York Fashion Week, and this documentary will help viewers understand all that goes into making it such a unique moment.”

The special will be produced by IMG, the leading talent agency which also produces the colossal occasion that is New York Fashion Week. After being acquired by WME last year, IMG expanded its reach into the fashion industry even further by adding The Wall Group — which represents the talent behind all things Hollywood hair and beauty — to become a giant force in the field of fashion.
