Fall TV schedule gorges on weight-loss shows

ABC Family has canceled its freshman drama series "Huge."

The series, based on the young adult novel by Sasha Paley, centers on a weight-loss camp for teens. It stars Nikki Blonsky and Hayley Hasselhoff.

"Huge" was a ratings lightweight this summer, averaging 1.9 million viewers. The network originally ordered 10 episodes, but is declining to pick up the second 10 "back end."

Earlier, the network renewed dramas "Pretty Little Liars" and "Secret Life of the American Teenager."
