ABC Family fills comedy, 'Liars' roles

Scott Cohen, Stephanie Childers to star in Jacobs pilot

Scott Cohen and Stephanie Childers have been tapped to star in ABC Family's untitled Michael Jacobs comedy pilot.

Meanwhile, Troian Bellisario and Ian Harding have joined Lucy Hale in the network's drama pilot "Pretty Little Liars."

Jacobs' single-camera project centers on a recently laid-off architect (Cohen) who begins to mentor his underdog middle daughter, while his veterinarian wife (Childers) shares a closer bond with their Type-A older daughter.

"Gilmore Girls" alum Cohen is repped by Gersh and One Entertainment. Childers ("Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip") is with Domain and Schachter Entertainment.

"Liars," based on Alloy Entertainment's series of novels, revolves around teenagers Aria (Hale), Emily, Spencer (Bellisario) and Hanna, who begin to receive mysterious messages, seemingly from their girlfriend who disappeared three years before.

Harding, who graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in the spring, will play a recent college grad who becomes Aria's high school teacher and gets in a relationship with her. He is repped by Gersh and Authentic.

Bellisario, daughter of writer-producer Don Bellisario and actress Deborah Pratt, has appeared on her father's series "Quantum Leap," "JAG" and "NCIS."
