ABC News shuffles management

NEW YORK -- ABC News announced on Tuesday a shuffling of its senior management team under president David Westin.

The division's new executive vp and second-in-command over all of the network's TV broadcasts is Dave Davis, president/general manager of WABC-TV in New York. Davis, who worked his way from cameraman to head of ABC's O&O in New York, will be in charge of its entire TV portfolio.

ABC News senior vp Paul Slavin will become senior vp digital at ABC News, in charge of the digital operations for the news division. Phyllis McGrady will become senior vp of creative development, and Paul Mason has been named senior vp politics, in charge of election coverage. Bob Murphy will take a new job as vp administration.

Westin wrote in an e-mail that appointing Davis to oversee all the TV broadcasts would simplify the structure and have the executive producers of "Good Morning America," "World News" and other shows reporting to one executive instead of three, as had been the case previously.
