ABC Orders New ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Pilot

The one-hour drama is a modern take on the 70s classic – and will be set in Miami.

ABC has snapped up a one-hour Charlie’s Angels drama pilot.

Based on the 1970s classic, the remake will be a modern take on the Angels and will be set in Miami, the network announced Thursday.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar wrote the script and are executive producing it with Leonard Goldberg, Drew Barrymore (star of the 2000 and 2003 big-screen versions) and Nancy Juvonen.
Interestingly, David  E. Kelley's pilot for Wonder Woman for Warner Bros. -- which also features a female heroine of the same era -- was recently passed over by the networks.
