ABC picks up 'Cutthroat,' 'Y,' 'Truth'

Bruckheimer drama among pilot orders

ABC on Wednesday picked up two more hourlong pilots, "Cutthroat" and "Generation Y."

It also finalized the pilot order for legal drama "The Whole Truth," from producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

The pickups follow a busy Tuesday for ABC, which marked three pilots -- two dramas and a comedy -- getting green lights from the network.

"Cutthroat," from 20th TV, is a dramedy about an ambitious single mother who finds running her own international drug cartel is perfect training for navigating the cutthroat world of Beverly Hills high society.

"Reaper" creators Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters are the writers/executive producers.

"Generation Y," from ABC Studios, is a documentary style drama that follows a group of people in the present with flashbacks to 10 years ago when they were in their senior year of high school.

It is based on the Scandinavian series "God's Highway," produced by Stockholm-Copenhagen Prods.

"The Unusuals" creator Noah Hawley wrote the script and is executive producing with Warren Littlefield and Stockholm-Copenhagen Prods.' Henrik Bastin, Peter Magnasson and Martin Piersson.

"The Whole Truth," from Warner Bros. TV, chronicles the building of a case from the perspective of both the defense and prosecution.

Tom Donagh ("Without a Trace") wrote the script and is co-executive producing with KristieAnne Reed. Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman are executive producing.

This is the second pilot order for Bruckheimer TV this season. NBC recently picked up the company's drama "The Chase."
