ABC promotes sales exec Geri Wang

Replaces Mike Shaw in president role

ABC primetime sales executive Geri Wang has been promoted to president of sales and marketing at the network.

Wang will be responsible for sales and marketing efforts covering ABC's various departs as the network heads into the May upfront. She replaces Mike Shaw, who announced in November he was stepping down after a decade in the post.

"Geri has proven herself to be a fierce advocate for ABC, someone who understands the value of our network and who has developed the skills and relationships necessary to ensure that value is fully recognized by the marketplace," said Disney Media Networks co-chair Anne Sweeney, to whom she'll report. "She's earned this promotion and I'm thrilled to have her as part of my senior team.

Wang joined ABC in 1990 as an associate director of daytime sales proposals and began her career as a media research analyst at Grey Advertising.
