ABC Taps Whitney Holland for Key Scheduling Post

She replaces Steve Kern as vp program planning and scheduling.

ABC has filled its vacant scheduling position, tapping OWN's Whitney Holland to replace Steve Kern.

Holland will serve as vp program planning and scheduling, ABC announced Tuesday. She'll report to Andy Kubitz, executive vp program planning and scheduling.

In her new role, Holland will contribute to develop the overall programming and scheduling analysis and strategy recommendations for the network to maximize viewership on all platforms. She'll have oversight of program planning and scheduling for original and acquired television content.

She comes to ABC from OWN, where she served as vp scheduling and acquisitions. She held similar posts at Hallmark Channel, Bravo, Animal Planet and TLC.

"Whitney brings with her a wealth of new ideas and a strong background in research and scheduling that will help strengthen the network,” Kubitz said. “She is a welcome addition to ABC and our scheduling team.”

Holland will also help develop short- and long-term programming strategies and will be a liaison across the ABC Entertainment Group to both communicate and implement all parts of the schedule.

She replaces Kern, who exited ABC to follow former scheduling exec Jeff Bader to NBC. Bader departed in August and now serves as president of program planning, strategy and research at NBC in his newly created position.
