ABC Wins Monday Ratings with 'Dancing with the Stars'

Spring slump sends CBS’ “Mike & Molly” and “Hawaii Five-O”and Fox’s “Chicago Code” to series lows.

ABC easily won Monday night with a two-hour Dancing with the Stars performance show and a new installment of Castle. The network averaged a 3.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 17.9 million viewers overall. DWTS (4.4, 20.8 million) and Castle (2.9, 12.3 million) both won their respective time slots despite slight erosion week-to-week.
CBS averaged a 2.4 rating with 7.8 million viewers overall with new episodes of How I Met Your Mother (2.7, 6.7 million) and Mad Love (2.2, 5.7 million) up compared to their previous originals. A rerun of Two And a Half Men pulled in a 2.2 rating with 7.6 million viewers, which may have helped to drag Mike & Molly (2.3, 8.0 million) down to a series low last night. Hawaii Five-O (2.4, 9.3 million) also hit a series low.
Fox averaged a 2.2 rating with 7 million viewers with House (2.9, 8.4 million) and The Chicago Code (1.6, 5.5 million). Both shows were down and Chicago Code tumbled 11 percent for a series low.
Univision averaged a 1.5 rating with 3.6 million viewers for Teresa (1.4, 3.5 million) and Triunfo del Amor (1.5, 3.8 million). And NBC finished the night with a 1.4 rating and 4.3 million viewers overall with Chuck (1.4, 4.1 million), The Event (1.3, 4.0 million) and Law & Order: Los Angeles (1.4, 4.8 million). Chuck and LOLA were both up 8 percent. But The Event, which is a long shot for renewal, was flat.
The CW averaged a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and a 0.9 in the 18-34 demo with 1.3 million viewers overall for 90210 and Gossip Girl.
