ABC's Jodie Platt stepping down

Head of comedy to be replaced by Kevin Plunkett

Now ABC Studios is shaking up its comedy ranks.

Jodie Platt, the studio's head of comedy, is stepping down after two years and will be succeeded by ABC vp current comedy Kevin Plunkett, who is moving from the network to the studio to take the reins of the comedy department.

The shuffle comes on the heels of the departure of ABC Studios senior vp drama Morgan Wandell to run Greg Berlanti's company and the elevation of vp drama development Channing Dungey to senior vp and head of the drama department.

Plunkett's promotion brings him back to the studio world. He was a comedy development exec at Paramount Network TV before joining ABC's current department in 2005. At ABC, he has overseen such half-hour series as last season's successful "Samantha Who."
