ABC's Tann exits after 3 years

ABC's head of current programming, Steve Tann, has left the studio.

Tann had led the department since it was relaunched in 2005 after a seven-year absence. His departure preceded the Thursday announcement of the merger of ABC and ABC Studios.

The department's current staff, including vps Stephanie Leifer, Alex Weinberger and Jodie Platt, will continue to oversee ABC's slate of on-air series, reporting to exec vp Barry Jossen.

Like every other division at the network and the studio, ABC Studios' current department will be evaluated by Stephen McPherson, who heads the combined unit.

No major changes are expected before the end of pilot season. (partialdiff)
