Academy Awards sets supervising producer

Marks Michael B. Seligman's 33rd year with the show

Michael B. Seligman has been named supervising producer of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards telecast, set for March 7. The gig marks the 33rd year he's been associated with the show.

"I look forward to lovingly torturing Michael, as we all move toward putting together one of the most complicated and dynamic television events of the year," Adam Shankman, who is producing the show with Bill Mechanic, said.

Seligman specializes in producing live broadcasts. Most recently, he worked on the inaugural Noble Awards, which benefits nine charitable organizations, and he is slated for producing duties for "Stand Up to Cancer" in 2010.

Seligman has received five Emmy nominations for his work on Oscar telecasts.

The Oscar show will be held March 7 at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center and televised live by ABC.
