Academy names animation technology interns

Four students awarded $4,000 stipends

The Science and Technology Council of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has selected four individuals to participate in its summer internship program for students interested in careers in motion picture computer graphics and animation technology.

They are Sebastian Burke, UC, Berkeley, who will intern at Pixar Animation Studios; Christopher J. Clark, Rochester Institute of Technology, who will intern at the Sci-TechCouncil; Henry Wang, UCLA, who will also intern at the Sci-Tech Council; and Qing Xing, Texas A & M, who will intern at Rhythm & Hues Studios.

Currently in its third year, the program provides eight-week internships that give students experience working with pioneering technologies in the motion picture industry. The Council is providing a $4,000 stipend to each of the four students.
