Garth Brooks performed "All-American Kid" at the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMs) on Sunday night at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Strapped with a red, white and blue guitar to fit the song's patriotic theme, Brooks took the stage to perform his lively hit. The crowd gave a standing ovation as real U.S. servicemen and servicewomen walked down the aisles during his set and stood at the foot of the stage for the remainder of his performance. At the end, the milestone award winner tipped his cowboy hat to the veterans.

The country singer is nominated for entertainer of the year alongside Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line. He has taken home the coveted award six times in the past 25 years (1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1997 and 1998).

Shelton and Bryan co-hosted the awards at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
