Church also paid tribute to late musicians Glenn Frey, Lemmy Kilmister and Scott Weiland.

Eric Church took to the stage at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards to perform his new single, "Record Year." He was nominated five times, including entertainer of the year.

During his performance, Church celebrated the lives of Glenn Frey of the Eagles, Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland, Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister and David Bowie with a montage of chords. He stood at the turntable as a portion of Bowie's iconic song "Changes" was played in tribute to the late performer.

The show aired live on CBS from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The ceremony, produced by Dick Clark Prods., was hosted by Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley.
