Action Slate notches up presales on 'Sanctuary'

New martial-arts action/adventure film sells abroad

CANNES -- Action Slate Films has notched up a number of pre-sales on "The Sanctuary," a new martial-arts action/adventure film.

The presale deals were struck with EuropaCorp. for France; Selectavision for Spain; and Medya Vision for Turkey. "The Sanctuary" will be shot in English and star Mike B ("Brave," and the former stuntman of Tony Jaa), and Gary Daniels ("Tekken"). Thanapon Maliwan ("Brave") is writing and directing the project, which is slated for a July start in Thailand.

Action previously announced a second action film, "Hands of the Dragon," which will start filming in Vancouver and Mumbai in June.

Action Slate Films is a joint production venture between Las Vegas-based Birch Tree Entertainment and India's Infinity Filmed Entertainment.
