Actors unions on road to making amends

SAG board approves agreement to return to Phase One

SAG and AFTRA are working to fix their broken wounds.

On Saturday, SAG's national board approved a proposed agreement outlining conditions under which the two performers' unions would return to their Phase One joint-bargaining agreement to negotiate a new commercials contract.

The AFL-CIO was brought into the fray to help facilitate an agreement between the two unions, which have been at odds ever since AFTRA suspended Phase One with SAG and negotiated its own primetime/TV contract. The commercials contract was previously extended to March 31.
