ACTRA leadership signs off on deal

Results of vote will be revealed by Nov. 26

OTTAWA -- Canadian actors union ACTRA said Monday that its national executive board has approved a proposed new contract with domestic advertisers and is recommending ratification.

The three-year National Commercial Agreement with the Institute of Communications Agencies and the Association of Canadian Advertisers was mailed to ACTRA's 21,000 members Oct. 27. Results will be revealed by Nov. 26.

The new agreement, whose terms include a 2.5% pay increase in each of the three years of the new deal, will go into effect Dec. 1 if the settlement is approved by ACTRA's rank and file.
