Daughter of rocker Johnny Hallyday, actress Nathalie BayePARIS -- French actress Laura Smet was rushed to the hospital Monday after a failed suicide attempt, according to Gallic media. Smet, the 26 year-old daughter of French rock star Johnny Hallyday and actress Nathalie Baye, had consumed medicine and alcohol near the St Germain-des-pres church in the center of Paris before being taken to the Val de Grace hospital.
Smet's father Hallyday, has been the hot topic among Gallic media of late as the "French Elvis" battled a severe infection and an induced coma at Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A. Hallyday was released from the hospital just before Christmas, but canceled the remainder of his farewell musical tour due to health problems.
Hallyday launched a lawsuit against surgeon Stephane Delajoux, who allegedly botched the singer's surgery causing said health problems, in December. The young Smet has been dating the surgeon's brother Julien Delajoux, and according to French media, has been torn between her boyfriend and her father. The actress is expected to recover and, according to her lawyer, "She is not in danger."
