Adding up: CBS, WBTVG expand ad sales groups


CBS Corp. and Warner Bros. Television Group separately announced expansions to their advertising sales groups targeting multiplatform opportunities.

CBS is launching CBS Connections, a sales and marketing unit that will span CBS' TV, radio, interactive and outdoor properties. Fred Sawabini has been named senior vp at CBS Connections.

"CBS' divisional assets are second to none, and advertisers want to harness the power of our brands to address their increasingly complex marketing needs," CBS president of sales Jo Ann Ross said.

Sawabini, who will report to Ross, most recently was senior vp Viacom Plus, where he managed sales and marketing teams for the company.

At WBTVG, Rich Sutton has been named senior vp of the company's new digital media sales team, which will cover content for Internet and mobile advertising from Warner Bros. Television, Warner Horizon Television, Telepictures Prods., Warner Bros. Animation and Studio 2.0.

Sutton, who reports to Michael Teicher, executive vp media sales at WBTVG, was president of sales and sponsorship at Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution. The new unit also includes Angela Gaspar as vp digital media sales and Mary Ann Branco as account executive.
