Adele to Headline 2016 Glastonbury Festival
The singer announced the news onstage at London's O2 arena.
Adele will headline the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night of the 2016 Glastonbury Festival in the U.K., the singer revealed onstage Friday at London's O2 arena.
"Don't tell anyone I told you," she said from the stage. "I think it's a secret."
Well, the secret's out: The festival confirmed the news shortly after Adele's announcement.
As @Adele just announced live on stage in London, she will headline Saturday night at this year's Glastonbury Festival!— Glastonbury Festival (@GlastoFest) March 18, 2016
This will be Adele's first time performing at the massive outdoor festival, which is set to run June 22-26.
She joins previously announced headliners Muse on Friday night and Coldplay on Sunday night. PJ Harvey and Jeff Lynne's ELO have also been confirmed as part of the lineup, and the event has said it will pay tribute to David Bowie with a screening of his career-spanning main stage performance from 2000.
The Glastonbury show will cap Adele's European tour supporting the album 25 before she hits North America in July with dates going as late as November.
