Adele to Perform at 2016 Brit Awards

The "Hello" singer last performed at the event in 2011.

Adele will return to the Brit awards next year as the first performer announced for the Feb. 24 ceremony.

"You couldn’t get a bigger name in music right now. Adele is having an exceptional moment and The BRITs are delighted to be a part of her history, her present and future," Brit chairman Max Lousada told The Guardian with the announcement.

The "Hello" singer has won three Brit awards over her career and last performed at the event in 2011, showcasing her hit "Someone Like You." 

Nominations for the Brit awards will be announced on Jan. 14. The event will be held at London's O2, celebrating popular British music.
