Adlon draws an 'Ace' as Bibb exits Adler pilot

Pamela Adlon has been tapped to star opposite Adam Carolla on the CBS comedy pilot "Ace in the Hole."

Meanwhile, Leslie Bibb has departed NBC's untitled Justin Adler pilot.

CBS Par's "Ace" is a family comedy starring Carolla as a husband and father who works as a driving instructor. Adlon will play his caring wife, a nurse and mother of two.

For the past three seasons, Adlon has been a regular on Showtime's "Californication." She is poised to move to "Ace" if it is picked up to series.

Adlon is repped by Meghan Schumacher Management and attorney Melissa Rogal.

Bibb's departure from the Adler project comes on the heels of a shake-up by which Adler exited the Tannenbaum/Sony comedy and was replaced by Moses Port and David Guarascio. Despite the turnover, the pilot is set to film this week as planned.

The multicamera comedy, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, revolves around adult siblings, one of whom was to be played by Bibb. The role is being recast.

Also starring in the pilot are Nick D'Agosto, Michael Rosenbaum, John Michael Higgins, Alison Munn and Jill Clayburgh. (partialdiff)
