AETN taps Dean Possenniskie
Named new London-based European managing directorLONDON -- A&E TV Networks has wooed respected BBC Worldwide channels executive Dean Possenniskie to be its new London-based European managing director, it was announced Thursday.
Reporting to AETN svp, international Sean Cohan, Possenniskie will be responsible for overseeing and growing AETN's interests in channels, content distribution and digital media activities across the EMEA area and will join A&E in the second half of the year.
A&E currently has seven channel brands across Europe, including History, Bio, Crime & Investigation and Military History.
It operates 43 branded international pay TV channels with more than 20 in Europe.
At BBC Worldwide, Possenniskie oversaw the European channels portfolio and the rebranding process and prior to that worked at MTV Networks International in the emerging markets division.
"Dean has a unique track record of building successful European channel operations and we are very pleased to have him join our team," said Cohan. "AETN has experienced tremendous international growth over the past three years. Dean will play a critical leadership role in helping drive further expansion and diversification throughout EMEA during our next phase of growth."
