AFI Fest to Pay Tribute to Errol Morris
The fest also announced centerpiece gala screenings for 'Call Me by Your Name,' 'The Disaster Artist' and 'Hostiles.'
Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Errol Morris will be honored with a tribute at the upcoming AFI Fest, following a screening of his latest project Wormwood.
The American Film Institute’s annual festival on Friday also announced that three centerpiece gala screenings have been slated for Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me by Your Name, James Franco’s The Disaster Artist and Scott Cooper’s Hostiles.
The gala screenings will take place at the TCL Chinese Theatre, while the Morris tribute will be held Nov. 11 at the Egyptian Theatre.
Wormwood is a six-part Netflix original about one man’s 60-year quest to discover the circumstances around his father’s death.
AFI Fest is set to run Nov. 9-16.
