The AFL-CIO stepped into the SAG-AFTRA fray Monday to mediate the bickering between the two actors unions as they gear up for talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers.

The result, a promise to the AFL-CIO on Tuesday that both unions "are fully committed to jointly negotiating and jointly administering the television/theatrical contract pursuant to their bargaining agreement," according to a statement by the AFL-CIO.
