AFM 2011: IM Global Unveils 'Blood'
Paul Bettany, Brian Cox and Stephen Graham are starring in Blood, a crime movie that adapts to the big screen the British TV mini-series Conviction.
Bill Gallagher, who created the series, wrote the script and Nicky Murphy is directing.
IM Global, which unveiled the project at AFM, is co-financing with BBC Films. Sam Mendes’ Neal Street Productions and Nicola Shindler’s Red Productions are producing.
According to IM Global, “Blood is the story of a father and his two sons who are all by-the-book cops, but after a young girl is brutally murdered and the main suspect is released due to lack of evidence, brothers Joe and Chrissie Fairburn (Bettany and Graham) take matters into their own hands in an attempt to coerce a confession. Joe and Chrissie’s father Lenny (Cox), the former chief of police, is a quiet spectator to the fatal tragedy that begins to tear his sons apart.”
Blood is the third high-profile project announced by IM Global, Dead Man Down (with Colin Ferrell and Noomi Rapace) and Jason Statham actionner Hummingbird being the other two.
Bettany starred in this summer’s Priest while Graham played Al Capone in Boardwalk Empire. Cox was seen in Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
