The Nordic distributor acquires its first slate of films since it relaunched as an indie, following a management buyout in August.

NonStop Entertainment has snatched up an entire slate of new titles ahead of AFM as it aims to rebrand as an independent player in the Nordic market.

The group, which Jakob Abrahamsson and C.G. Anderson acquired from Turner Broadcasting in a management buyout deal earlier this year, has added nearly a dozen titles to its line up, including Jocelyn Moorhouse's drama The Dressmaker, starring Kate Winslet and Liam Hemsworth, Rufus Norris’ London Road featuring Tom Hardy and Mr. Right, an action rom-com directed by Paco Cabezas and starring Sam Rockwell, Anna Kendrick and Tim Roth.

NonStop's new slate also includes Venezuelan drama From Afar by director Lorenzo Vigas, which won the Golden Lion in Venice this year, the sci-fi drama Into The Forest with Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood and She Who Brings Gifts, a post-apocalyptic thriller from director Colm McCarthy starring Glenn Close, Gemma Amerton and Paddy Considine.

Abrahamsson said the round of acquisitions put the re-launched NonStop “exactly where we want to be” as it looks to re-establish itself as an upmarket art house distributor in Scandinavia.
