AFM: Julia Weber to Lead Telepool's Global Screen

Weber will run all sales and acquisition activity at the group as Global Screen sales and acquisitions executive Alexandra Heidrich leaves the company.

Global Screen, the international sales and distribution arm of Germany's Telepool, has consolidated its television and film businesses under one roof and named Julia Weber to run things.

Weber, currently head of theatrical sales and distribution at Global Screen, will add TV operations to her remit and take on the new title as overall head of international acquisitions and sales at Global Screen as of January 2021.

Her college, Alexandra Heidrich, currently head of acquisitions and sales, TV international, will step down at the end of the year.

Telepool is a leading German rights group active in both small and big screen productions. In 2018, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's Westbrook Inc. and an investor group led by director Marc Forster (World War Z) acquired Telepool. 

Commenting on Weber's appointment, Telepool CEO Jan Frouman said that consolidating the group's film and TV operations was a "logical next step" and would allow the Munich-based group to be "strategic, nimble and growth-focused."

Global Screen will be active at the online-only American Film Market this week, with a line-up that includes such features as The School of Magical Animals and Lassie Come Home.
