'Agatha Christie's Poirot's' Final Season Snags Healthy Pre-Sales

The 13th and final season, a co-production between ITV Studios and WGBH, inks memos across the globe.

The 13th and final series of ITV Studios' iconic detective drama Agatha Christie’s Poirot is proving as popular as ever with global TV buyers.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has secured a raft of pre-sales for the show based on Christie’s famous detective novels inking deals with TMC (France), ABC (Australia), Prime (New Zealand), Chungwa (Taiwan), Latvian Television, RTV (Slovenia), HRT (Croatia), Sanoma (Hungary) and Digiturk (Turkey).

WGBH in the U.S. will co-produce and air two of the Poirot films: The Big Four and Dead Man’s Folly.

To mark the end of the long-running crime series, ITVS GE brought the star David Suchet to MIPTV.

Tobias de Graaff, director global television distribution, ITV Studios Global Entertainment, said: "These pre-sales are testament to the show’s continued popularity worldwide and we look forward to welcoming David Suchet to Cannes and launching the final series this MIPTV."

Agatha Christie’s Poirot first aired on British commercial network ITV in 1989.

The most recent episode – the series 12 finale – rolled out on ITV in December 2011, attracting a consolidated audience of 5.7 million viewers and a 25.7 percent share.
