Alain Andreoli Named Grass Valley Head

He will be president and CEO of the broadcast equipment manufacturer.

Alain Andreoli has been named president and CEO of leading broadcast equipment manufacturer Grass Valley.

Francisco Partners, a San Francisco- and London-based technology-focused investment firm, recently completed the purchase of Grass Valley from Technicolor in a deal believed to be valued at $100 million.

The manufacturer will now operate as an independent company, with the new executive team headquartered in San Francisco.

Andreoli was most recently an operating partner at Francisco Partners and before that held positions including president of Sun Microsystems Europe; chairman and CEO of Hubwoo; CEO of Xiotech; executive vp sales & services at McData; and president and COO of Verio. He also held several leadership roles at Texas Instruments.

Longtime Grass Valley exec Jeff Rosica assumes the role of executive vp and chief sales & marketing officer. Previously senior vp for the organization, Rosica will take global responsibility for all customer-related activities and drive the organization’s marketing functions.

Ian Halifax was appointed executive vp and CFO. He served most recently as CFO at Wind River Systems and before that held CFO roles at Micromuse and Macrovision.

Grass Valley sports product lines that include cameras, content repurposing, editing, master control, news production, production automation, production switchers, routing and video servers.
