Alec Baldwin's Daughter Pokes Fun at Infamous "Thoughtless, Little Pig" Voicemail
Ireland joked about the incident in an Instagram photo of her and her dad reading from a children's book.
Eight years after Alec Baldwin left an infamous voicemail in which he called his daughter, Ireland, a "rude, thoughtless little pig," he and his daughter seem to be able to joke about the incident.
Ireland posted the below to Instagram on Sunday morning of her and her dad reading from a children's book called If I Were a Pig... . She captioned the photo, "If I Were A Pig ... I would be Rude and Thoughtless of course!"
Alec called his then-11-year-old daughter names during a 2007 voicemail he left for her amid a bitter custody dispute between him and ex-wife Kim Basinger.
Growing angry after she missed a scheduled phone call, he said she had "insulted [him] for the last time" and that he was going to "straighten [her] ass out" when he saw her, and make it clear how "disappointed" he was in her.
Two years ago, Ireland told the New York Post's Page Six Magazine that she wasn't bothered by her dad's comments, chalking them up to his frustration at the time.
"The only problem with that voicemail was that people made it out to be a way bigger deal than it was," Ireland said. "He's said stuff like that before just because he's frustrated. For me it was like, ‘OK, whatever.’ I called him back I was like, ‘Sorry Dad, I didn’t have my phone.’ That was it."
Alec apologized for "losing [his] temper," blaming his comments on the stress of his custody battle.
