Alexander cops role in ABC comedy
Empty"Seinfeld" alum Jason Alexander has joined ABC's untitled cop comedy pilot.
Also cast in the pilot are Sarah Lafleur and Jillian Armenante. Also, Jud Tylor has come aboard CW's comedy pilot "Dash 4 Cash," and Wayne Wilderson has joined ABC's comedy pilot "The Thick of It."
The untitled cop project, from CBS Paramount Network TV and ABC TV Studio, follows the eccentric characters in a police precinct.
Alexander will play the internal affairs superintendent responsible for tracking down "bad apples." The role originally was developed as a regular, though Alexander will guest star in the pilot. If the project goes to series, he is set to recur during the show's initial order and is expected to become a regular if it goes beyond that. Lafleur and Armenante will play homicide detectives who are partnered.
Alexander will next be seen in the feature "The Grand," which is slated to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. He also will host PBS' Fourth of July special. Alexander is repped by Paradigm, Yumkas Management and attorney Michael Gendler.
Armenante's (Domain, Framework) feature credits include "North Country" and the upcoming "A Mighty Heart." The actress recently did an arc on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy."
"Dash," from CBS Paramount Network TV and Grammnet Prods., is set behind the scenes of a racing TV reality show. Tylor will play a contestant who is a churchgoer and do-gooder. Tylor (TalentWorks, Darlene Kaplan Entertainment) recurred on "That '70s Show" and "What About Brian" last season. Her feature credits include "What Love Is" and the upcoming "Charlie Wilson's War."
"Thick," from Sony TV and BBC Worldwide Prods., follows the workers in the office of a low-level congressman (John Michael Higgins). Wayne Wilderson (Bauman, Redanty & Shaul, manager Miriam Milgrom) will play a smart and ambitious political blogger.
