Will 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' Kristen Stewart -- a major Prada fan --wear the designer to the 2012 Costume Gala

Who on earth would be crazy enough to follow the 2011 blockbuster Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibit "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty"?

The McQueen retrospective (he committed suicide last year) brought in 661,509 visitors in just four months, making it the museum's most  popular exhibit ever. Next year, the stars will be Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli.

STORY: Alexander McQueen Exhibit Is Eighth Most Popular Met Show Ever

Prada has been the creative director of the house since 1978. She transformed the brand from a leather goods luxury company into a quirkily "dowdy chic" house. Schiaparelli was no slouch in her day. The queen of surrealist fashion collaborated with Salvador Dalí and Alberto Giacometti and was one of Coco Chanel's staunchest rivals.

Of course, the big question is whether the Devil in Prada herself, Anna Wintour, will walk the carpet for the grand opening, as well as Meryl Streep, Ann Hathaway and Emily Blunt. And of course, True Grit Oscar nominee Haylee Steinfeld -- herself the new face of Prada's Miu Miu line -- should be there too. It's probably written into her contract. But we also wonder if Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 star Kristen Stewart will also show up Prada. She's a longtime fan of the line, thanks to her fabulous stylist Tara Swennen. Stewart could even wear Prada to the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 premiere at the Nokia Theatre in downtown LA on Nov. 14. Stay tuned!

Other Prada fans include Carey Mulligan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, Julianne Moore, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Hudson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Mary-Kate Olsen, Megan Fox, Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman, Rachel Zoe, Rihanna, Sienna Miller and (whew) Salma Hayek. With all these Prada celeb fans, this promises to be one heckuva hot red carpet for the Costume Institute Gala that kicks off the museum's fashion exhibit.
