The French designer, who has fans in Miley Cyrus and Rita Ora, has been inducted to France's most prestigious fashion club

Alexandre Vauthier has earned a major accolade: He's been granted the Haute Couture Appellation by the Commission de Classement Couture Creation. Vauthier is the latest fashion designer to be inducted into France's exclusive fashion club, joining Chanel, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Stephane Rolland, to name a few, as an official member.

As part of the prestigious group, Vauthier will have to abide to the following rules: design made-to-order for private clients with at least one fitting; employ at least 15 full-time staff members at an atelier in Paris; and present a collection in January and July during Couture Fashion Week.

The French designer — who has dressed the likes of Miley Cyrus, Rita Ora, Kate Bosworth and Heidi Klum on the carpet — worked alongside Gaultier and Thierry Mugler before launching his eponymous brand in 2009.
