Alfre Woodard, Jussie Smollett Reveal How Their Characters Would Accept an Emmy, Dream Guests and Trailer Must-Haves
TV's top supporting actors are grilled about their various dreams and fantasies.
During The Hollywood Reporter's Supporting Actor Emmy Roundtable, the season's best television actors were questioned on various dreams and fantasies.
How would your character accept an Emmy award? Chelsea Peretti's Brooklyn Nine-Nine character would accept her award by text using many emoji's, "between two palm trees to illustrate Hollywood."
When asked about dream guest stars, Josh Gad pinned Mel Brooks, who did star on his show The Comedians. Lisa Kudrow is wanted at The Big Bang Theory, the Queen of England is in demand for Game of Thrones and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and of course, Kanye West for The League.
What character would you want to audition for? Gad would audition for Daredevil, while Jussie Smollett would audition for fellow Empire character Cookie Lyon.
The actors also shared the most essential things they need in their trailer (ChapStick, water and coffee ranking the highest).
When asked about the most difficult scenes they filmed this season, Andre Holland said his debut surgery scene on The Knick, where he plays a black doctor at the turn of the 20th century in America. "As an actor, standing there and seeing 150 white faces in 1900, looking at me … the pressure of that really touched a place in me that made it hard to do."
