'Aliens' shooter due for holidays

SAN DIEGO -- Game publisher Sega said Thursday that its first-person shooter game based on the popular "Aliens" film franchise will reach shelves during the holiday season.

"Aliens: Colonial Marines" is licensed through an exclusive agreement with 20th Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising and is being developed by Gearbox Software for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.

The original story for "Marines" is being penned by Bradley Thompson and David Weddle, who have written and produced for sci-fi TV series "Deep Space Nine" and "Battlestar Galactica."
