All-originals score easy victory for CBS Thurs.


An all-original lineup led CBS to an easy Thursday victory by a wide margin.

The network's "Survivor: Fiji" (13.3 million viewers, 4.2 rating/13 share among adults 18-49), "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (21.5 million, 6.6/18) and "Shark" (15.3 million/4.0/11) all dominated their time periods, according to preliminary Nielsen estimates.

Noteworthy showings from the other networks included two midseason entries, Fox's game show "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" (10.2 million, 3.5/11), which finished competitive second in the 8p.m. hour, and ABC's drama "October Road" (7.7 million, 3.0/9), second in the 10-11 p.m. time period.

For the night, CBS averaged 16.7 million viewers and a 4.9/14 among adults 18-49, followed by Fox (7.4 million, 2.8/8).

With its big Thursday guns "Grey's Anatomy" and "Ugly Betty" in repeats, ABC (7.4 million, 2.5/7) settled for third, while NBC's night of supersized comedies finished fourth (5.1 million, 2.4/7)
