Alliance Films, Handmade ink library deal

7-year deal for Canadian indie to release 150-strong library

TORONTO -- Alliance Films has signed a Canadian library distribution deal with Handmade Films International, the distribution arm of British producer Handmade Films.

The exclusive seven-year pact will see Toronto-based Alliance Films, Canada's largest indie distributor, release classic films from the Handmade catalogue on DVD, Blu-Ray and electronic download via iTunes in the Canadian market.

Around 150 movie titles are included in the Handmade Films library, including Monty Python's "Life of Brian," "Mona Lisa" and "Time Bandits."

Handmade Films, the shingle of ex-Beatles George Harrison, was owned by Canadian indie producer Paragon Entertainment during the late 1990s before returning to British ownership.
