Amanda Bynes Reportedly Placed on Psychiatric Hold

The actress will be hospitalized for at least 72 hours

Amanda Bynes has reportedly been placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold.

Bynes arrived at LAX, and a car service took her to a Pasadena hospital, where doctors placed her on the hold, TMZ reports. Her parents and their attorney, Tamar Arminak, were waiting for the actress at the hospital.

The 5150 psychiatrist hold is good for 72 hours and can be extended for 14 days. Sources told TMZ Bynes' parents will seek a conservatorship of their daughter. Until last month, Bynes was living with her parents under a conservatorship that has expired.

Bynes, who was arrested late last month for a DUI, made startling accusations via Twitter Friday that her father had sexually abused her. She then retracted those accusations.

She has faced a string of legal troubles and has struggled with mental health issues.

An attorney for Bynes' parents did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Bynes' attorney declined to comment.
