American Music Awards: XXXTentacion's Mom Accepts His Posthumous Award
The rapper, who won in the favorite Soul/R&B album category, died in June.
XXXTentacion won for favorite soul/R&B album at the 2018 American Music Awards on Tuesday. The award was accepted by his mother, Cleopatra Bernard.
"I'm so nervous, you guys," said Bernard as she made her way to the microphone.
"I am honored to accept this award on behalf of my son," she said. "I would like to thank the AMAs, his fans and to everyone who made this possible. Thank you guys so much. I appreciate this."
The rapper, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, died in June after being fatally shot during an armed robbery. He was 20.
Tracee Ellis Ross served as the host of the 2018 AMAs, which took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
