Amazia, ABU in promotional partnership

PARIS -- Asia-based TV, music and gaming conference and networking event Amazia has signed a promotional partnership with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, Amazia's organizers Reed Midem said Wednesday.

The first ever Amazia event is set to kick off at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on Nov. 17.

More than 160 companies from all over the world and more than 140 Asian buyers have already signed up for the two-day Amazia Entertainment Summit devoted to Asia's media revolution and global partnerships.

"This new event is dedicated to facilitating business within Asia-Pacific by bringing together the region's leading entertainment and content distribution companies with their international counterparts," Amazia director Franz Caduc said.

He added: "The ABU's experience in broadcasting throughout Asia-Pacific and its commitment to developing Asian entertainment production and distribution platforms makes it a natural partner for us."

The ABU, which aims to facilitate broadcasting development in the Asia-Pacific region, currently has over 170 members in 53 countries reaching a potential audience of around three billion people.
