The two companies will establish a new post-production facility in the Domincian Republic.

AMBI Group has partnered with Caribbean-based Lantica Media to co-produce and co-finance English- and Spanish-language feature films.

“We are extremely pleased with this next phase of our development,” commented Lantica Media CEO Antonio Gennari. “Our long-term goals have always been to create a full-service facility in the Dominican Republic and with AMBI’s partnership, we will be able to add visual effects and 3D conversion to the list of services.”

The two companies will establish a new postproduction facility specializing in visual effects and 2D to stereoscopic 3D conversion at Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios, under the AIC Studios, the AMBI-owned VFX and animation services company based in Toronto.

AMBI and Lantica have committed to making three English- and Spanish-language feature films over the next 3 to 5 years. AMBI Distribution, the global sales arm of the AMBI Group, will oversee worldwide distribution for the slate of co-produced films.

“The Caribbean region is laden with rich story ideas, locations and talented filmmakers, and on a whole, exemplifies the vision we have to make high quality movies that will be appealing on a global scale,” added AMBI co-founder Monika Bacardi.
